2010 Vehicle Fund Update

As the Medical Director for The Luke Commission in Swaziland, southern Africa, let me share an exciting opportunity with you.

Our family has returned to Swaziland. Through your prayers and support, we are trusting God to reach out with compassionate medical care and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to tens of thousands of sick and suffering people in bush communities. But we have an urgent need for vehicles to reach these remote areas.

Good news. An anonymous friend of The Luke Commission is offering a $20,000 matching challenge grant designed to help us finish off the funding in our Saving a Generation Through Mobile Clinics Vehicle Drive by February 15. The overall need for replacement vehicles is $110,000 and we’ve received $70,000 to date.

Would you consider a special gift now? As the only mobile medical clinic in Swaziland, The Luke Commission is uniquely positioned to communicate long term hope physically and spiritually for those otherwise neglected and effectively connect churches and ministries in their compassionate responses to those in need.

Your gift will be matched dollar-for dollar. For the past four years, TLC vehicles have been towing 4 tons of medical supplies and relief aid to rural outreach sites in Swaziland. Over 60,000 patients have been treated medically and over 150,000 individuals have received aid delivered to remote areas through the ministry of The Luke Commission. Countless people, many on the brink of death, have made decisions to follow or recommit their lives to Jesus while being touched by compassionate medical care.

Thank you for considering this urgent request. You can make a gift by clicking on the “Donate” tab on our secure server online at www.lukecommission.org and write “Vehicle Fund” in the Comments box. You can also mail your check to The Luke Commission, P.O. Box 1335, Sagle, ID 83860.

Serving our Lord with You,

Dr. Harry VanderWal

P.S. Could you contribute by February 15?  We look forward to providing help and hope for the Swazi people immediately and your gift will make this possible!
